Firetex 5090

Firetex FX5090 is a single-component, water-based thin film intumescent coating designed to provide passive fire protection for structural steel. When exposed to high temperatures during a fire, the coating expands to form an insulating char layer that helps protect steel from reaching critical failure temperatures.

The coating is designed for use on interior structural steel and can also be used in exterior environments when protected with an approved topcoat system. Firetex FX5090 can provide fire resistance ratings of up to 120 minutes for cellulosic fire protection.

Firetex FX5090 provides a smooth, paint-like architectural finish, making it suitable for exposed steel structures in commercial buildings where both fire protection and appearance are important.
