Fireshield Timber Clear
Fireshield TimberClear 1FR is a clear, water-borne intumescent coating designed to provide passive fire protection for interior timber surfaces while maintaining the natural appearance of the wood. When exposed to high temperatures during a fire, the coating expands to form an insulating char layer that slows the spread of flame and reduces heat transfer to the timber substrate.
The coating is commonly used on interior timber walls, ceilings, panels and structural timber members in commercial and residential buildings. As part of the full TimberClear system, the basecoat must be sealed with a compatible TimberClear top coat to complete the fire protection system and achieve compliance.
Fireshield TimberClear 1FR can provide Group 1 / Group 1-S surface ratings and up to 60 minutes fire resistance (FRR) for structural timber depending on the design specification and substrate characteristics. The system is designed for use in interior dry environments and is suitable for substrates such as plywood, MDF, veneers, CLT and solid timber.
