Interchar 212

Interchar 212 is a high-performance, high-build, solvent-free two-component epoxy intumescent coating designed to provide passive fire protection for structural steel. When exposed to high temperatures during a fire, the coating expands to form an insulating char layer that protects steel structures from reaching critical failure temperatures.

This robust epoxy-based system is engineered to provide both fire protection and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for demanding commercial and industrial environments. Interchar 212 is typically applied off-site by specialist applicators, allowing steelwork to be fabricated and fire-protected before arriving on construction sites, improving quality control and reducing installation time.

The coating can deliver fire resistance ratings of up to 2 hours for cellulosic fires, with additional approvals for hydrocarbon fire scenarios depending on system design and specification.
