Fire Safe Finishes

Australian Standard Compliant Fire Protection Solutions

Interchar 1120

Interchar 1120 is a single-component, water-borne intumescent coating designed to provide passive fire protection for interior structural steel. When exposed to high temperatures during a fire, the coating expands to form an insulating char layer that protects steel structures from reaching critical failure temperatures.

This thin-film intumescent coating is specifically designed for on-site application to exposed steelwork, including beams, columns and hollow steel sections. It delivers reliable fire protection performance while maintaining a smooth architectural finish suitable for visible structural steel.

Interchar 1120 is independently tested to multiple international fire standards and can provide fire protection ratings of up to 120 minutes, with testing supporting performance up to three hours depending on the system design and steel profile.
